It may not right to accuse television companies for causing violence in society. I think, however, violence on television definitely contributes to that in society.

To begin with, as we all know, violence has been rapidly increasing in the society for a last decades. For example, whenever I turn on a television or a radio, I hear a lot about violence that is happening in the world. Moreover, whenever I read a local newspaper, there is at least one incident that relates to violence. One of the differences between now and in the past is that everyone has television at home. Many people spend time watching television. Therefore, what we see on television can have a big effect on our lives.

In addition to the previous point, children are easily influenced by what they see. It is difficult for young children to recognize what is good and what is bad because they do not have knowledge or reference to understand good and bad behavior. Therefore, if children watch a violent television program all the time, there is a big chance of becoming violent when they grow up.

To sum up, although some people believe that violence on television has nothing to do that in society, I strongly believe that we can not ignore the influence of television as to violence in society today.
