Water resources around the world are falling deficient. Analyse the possible reasons and provide your suggestions.
It is true that numerous countries around the globe are confronted with the thorny issue of water scarcity. There are several causes of this trend, but measures could certainly be taken to address the problem.
To begin with, one of the most prominent justifications for water shortage is the rise of global population at an alarming rate. This has led to the inevitable demand for water on the grounds that it is one essential element for any human being in the world. For instance, water is utilized to fulfill various fundamental needs of people such as drinking or hygiene. Additionally, agriculture and industry activities require a considerable amount of water for irrigation and goods production, that is, the competition for water is becoming increasingly intense. Another incentive for water shortage is the pollution of human industrialization. There is no denying that factories have discharged tons of pollutants to both underground and surface water, thereby causing the loss of drinkable water. Briefly, human has to take the major responsibility for the water crisis.
Nonetheless, societies are capable of taking steps to mitigate the problems mentioned above. Firstly, one solution would be that governments are suggested to adopt some policies associated with optimizing water resources. For example, they encourage the use of drip irrigation amongst farmers, which proves to be efficient in saving a huge quantity of water for agricultural purposes. A second approach would be the application of wastewater treatment systems with a view to removing hazardous toxins from manufactured firms. Finally, it is proposed that those factories should be imposed heavy taxes and fines if they continue to harm the freshwater.
To sum up, a number of solutions can be taken to tackle water shortage that stems mainly from overpopulation and industrialization. By doing so, the world is prevented from further depletion of water resources.
