A recent sales study indicates that consumption of seafood dishes in Bay City restaurants has increased by 30 percent during the past five years. Yet there are no currently operating city restaurants whose specialty is seafood. Moreover, the majority of families in Bay City are two-income families, and a nationwide study has shown that such families eat significantly fewer home-cooked meals than they did a decade ago but at the same time express more concern about healthful eating. Therefore, the new Captain Seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood should be quite popular and profitable.
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be addressed in order to decide whether the conclusion and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to the questions would help to evaluate the conclusion.
The conclusion of the argument states that the new captain seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood should be quite popular and profitable. To support this conclusion the questions that arise are why the restaurant is popular even though there are many other restaurants in the city? Why people would love to come and dine in this restaurant? Is it an economical choice?
From the argument stated above , a study conducted shows that there has been a 30% increase in the consumption of seafood dishes in the city restaurants. Also most of the families are two-income families and thus prefer dining out than cooking at home, but they prefer healthful eating. Thus seafood is the best choice in terms of healthful meal, as it contains more amount of proteins required for the body in growth and development.
The new captain seafood restaurant is the best choice for dining out for the families of Bay city as it specializes in the preparation of the popular and most consumed seafood dishes at an economical budget. Thus due to the increase in the number of people consuming seafood at restaurants due to the health benefits and hectic schedules, the new captain restaurant will be able to provide extravagant dining option for the people of the city. Also as there are no other good restaurants that prepare sumptuous seafood delicacies people would prefer to dine in at a restaurant that specializes in their favourite food choice.
