Although this figure fell to 33% in 1990, it still enjoyed the first place. In term of natural gas, there saw a slight reduction, form 26% in 1980 to 25% in 1990.
Whereas, the proportion of coal and nuclear power which were used to generate energy increased. In 1980, 22% of energy produced from coal, then this figure rose up to 27% and became the second main source of energy. The amount of energy generated from nuclear power was double, from 5% to 10% after 10 years. Despite the changes of other sources, the use of hydroelectric power remained stable at 5% during the observed years.
