In the reading passage, the author claims that there are three viable explanations regarding this idea that Pterosaurs, which was a large winged reptiles lives concuurently with the dinosaurs, was not capable to fly. However, finding all the ideas implausible and questionable, the professor casts doubt on what is presented in the text, and states some evidence to the contrary.
At first, the author argues that since the Pterosaurs was cold-blooded similar to the moder reptiles, it could not have able to generate sufficient energy for flying. Conversely, the lecturer coontens that on the basis of recent discoveries, there was a hair covering on the body of Pterosaurs which resembalence the feathurs. Indeed, this hair coverage is an indication of this fact that this reptile was warm-blooded since same as those have feathurs, this layer assisted them to keep the high temperture of their bodies in extreme cold climate. Therefore, having been warm-blooded, Pterosaurs would able to produce adequate energy to fly.
In addition, the reading passage holds the view that so large was this animal that it is impresuasive to flap their wings and flight such heavy body. On the other hand, the professor dismisses this idea by clarifying the fact that Pterosaurs hd some features which made its body light. For example, its bones were hollow instead of solid. SUbsequently, these hollow bones lowered the weight of its body substantially and enabled the animal to falp regardless of its huge body.
Finally, the author asserts that the weak back legs of the Pterosaurs did not supply enough power to launch it into the air. The professor, thought, repudiate this point by subscribing the fact that this assumption were ture, if the pterosaurs would take off like the birds. In fact, there is a paramount difference between these two animals. Ptersaurus utilzed four limbs (legs) instead of mere tow back legs; hence, using all of four legs, the animal would able to produce sufficient power to jump push the ground and fly.
