In the reading passage, the author claims that there are three viable advantages of constituting the electonic medical record system, which is storing the patniets' informatin in electroinic databases, instead of utilizing paper-based storage. However, finding all the ideas implausible and questionable, the professor casts doubt on what is presented in the text and states some evidence to the contrary.
At first, the author agues that a substantial drop in cost as well as in space are accounted as undeniable benefits of electronic records. Conversely, the lecturer contends that as for a point about the saving money it will not be as significant as the reading mentioned. Furthermore, doctors who incline to use this system do not rely merely on the elecronic system. Indeed, they keep storing the papers as a back ground documents in emergency cases as they are included their signitures which is useful for ligal purposes. Consequently, their adaptation to new record system has nothing to do with the space poblem for storage.
In addition, the reading passage holds the view that some critical errors, such as illigible handwriting and improper transciption data ,will be ommited thanks to using the electronic medical records. On the contrary, the professor dismisses this idea by clarifying the fact that this approach will not ellminiate these obstacles. As a matter of fact, even doctors adopted this new method write various experiminets for their patients which including their hanwriting. Having enetr the data into electronic database, their sattf interpret their scripts. Therefore, their understanding of the doctors' writings may lead to some inevitable errors.
Finally, The authors assers that these electronic database can assist medical researches. The professor, thought, repudiate this claim by subscribing the fact that the information recorded in this database are not availbale for everyone. Indeed, there are tight regulation regarding keeping the patients' informtion private. Thuse, if someone wants to have access to this medical information, he has no other choice but following stirct rules nad getting myriad permission including the patients. Note to this point that mostof the time paintient do not allowed to use their data for any purpose by blocking the users' access.
