The pie charts compare the consumptions of online shopping for four retail categories in Canada between 2005 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the online shopping sales of video games and food/beverage increased consistently over the period of 5 years, while people in Canada decreased the proportion of their budget on the remaining two categories from 2005 to 2010.
In 2005, the largest online sales were for electronics/appliance and home furnishings, at 35% and 25% respectively. However, over the 5-year period, this figures increased slightly to 30% for electronics/appliance and 15% for home furnishings – the lowest expenditure in 2010.
In addition, video games and food/beverage accounted for the lowest sales of online shopping in 2005, only 18% and 22% respectively. In 2010, the figures for video games and food/ beverage increased sharply, at 23% and 32%. In this year, food/beverage became the highest online shopping sales among the remaining three categories.
