The pie charts supply data concerning water usage for three different purposes in six regions in the world.
It is manifest that South American, Africa, Central Asia and South Asia consume most of their water for agriculture, while North American and Europe allocate the biggest proportion of their water usage to industrial use.
To begin with, the percentage of water usage for agriculture is the highest in Central Asia with 88%, followed by Africa, Southeast Asia and South American with 84, 81 and 71% respectively. By contrast, the water usage for this sector just accounts for about one third of the total water consumption in North America and Europe.
However, approximately a half of the total water usage in two aforementioned areas is for their industries, whereas the figures for others is only around 12%. Also, the percentage of water consumed for Domestic use in South American is the largest with 19%, followed in turn by Europe (15%) and North American (13%), while others' figures for this sector are negligible.
