Overall, as can be seen, the proportion of women’s unemployment tended to decrease almost all countries surveyed, with the notable exception of Scotland. Another visible trend is that England accounted for the highest scale in terms of females who were jobless in 2013.
In the year 2013, the percentage of Wales women being out-of-work was 5,4%. The figure for Northern Ireland women was higher, at 5,6%. However, the female unemployed rate in Northern Ireland reached the lowest point to 4,6% in 2014, compared to 5% of Wales.
Looking at the detail, the female out-of-work proportion peaked at 6,8% in England in 2013, higher almost 1% in comparison with Scotland (6,1%). In the next year, England witnessed a slight decline in the jobless rate of women, at 6,5%; whereas; Scotland is the only country where the women unemployed figure rose slowly to 6,7%.
