The article states that dinosaurs are endotherm and can keep their body temperature constant like modern birds and mammals and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that dinosaurs are not endotherms and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that discovering dinosaur fossils in polar regions show they are endotherms. The professor opposes this point by saying that the polar regions were warmer in the past and dinosaur can easily lives in there. He also states that when the weather become cold, dinosaur could easily migrate to a warmer and better region. Also, they could hibernate like other animal in a cold climate and keep its body temperature constant.
Second, the article posits that dinosaur's legs are positioned underneath its body not at body's side suck as crocodile. In contrast, the professor says that there is a explanation for dinosaur's legs position. According to the professor, dinosaur's legs position is to support more weight and become larger. So, dinosaur grow bigger and have a large advantage on other animal and dinosaur.
Third, the reading says that dinosaur's fossilized bones have a haverisan canals structure. The professor casts doubt on this point by explaining that dinosaur have a growth rings that show its growth rate changes over times. To illustrate, he say that one of the characteristic of endotherm is to growth swiftly and dinosaur stops or slow their growing rate over a year many time.
