The graph depicts the proportion of men and women who taught in seven different faculties of a particular university in 2010.
Overall, in business, engineering, law and science academics males minority was higher whereas in arts and education faculties occupied by females. Although, medicine faculty had almost equal percentage by both genders. However, there was a large gender disparity in some faculties.
It can be seen that, engineering academic was dominated by male, approximately more than 80% . whilst education had three quarters more women, more or less 75%. Notably, business and science academics were had the same proportion by males and females ( marginally over 60% and well under 40% respectively).
In arts academic women staffs had slightly more percentage while in law men crossed by nearly 20% more compared to women (around 58% ladies staff and 60% gents staff respectively). It was interesting that in medicine both genders representation was almost equal (approximately 50%). However, engineering academic had significantly higher percentage, over 80% by males. And in education below 80% by females. In other faculties,there was variation in both genders representation.
