The bar chart given indicates the proportion of Australian men and women from various age group who regularly took exercises in 2010.
As can be seen from the graph, the only group that had a higher percentage of men engaged in physical activities than women is the people in their 15 to 24, with the proportions being 52.8% and 47.7% respectively. However, we can ascertain a gradual increase in female regular exercisers across age groups which reached at peak of 53.3% in the 45 to 54 year-old women. This figure only fell insignificantly to 53% in the 55 to 64 age group before shrinking to the lowest level off 47.1% in the oldest group.
Conversely, the percentage of 25 to 34 year-old men doing regular physical activities drastically dropped to 42.2% and bottomed out at 39.5% in the 35 to 44 age group. Nevertheless, is showed an upward trend in the older groups and rose to 46.7%, which was virtually equal to the percentage of female counterparts, in the 65 and over.
