The given table illustrates various activities performed with or on the mobile phone, in three different periods of time: 2006, 2008 and 2010. Overall it can be seen that there is a general upward trend in using the mobile device for all activities, exclusively making calls which remained stable over the entirely given timeframe.
Looking at the details, taking photos and texting messages had seen a slight increase throughout the period, from 66% to 76% and from 73 to 79% respectively, figures which represented the second and third most commonly used among the given activities.
The number of people playing games or music more than doubled in 2010, as compared to 2006, from 41% and 26%
% to 17% and 12 %, respectively. Moreover, two featured which were highly used in 2010, were not available in 2006. They were represented by surfing on the internet, which rose dramatically to 41% in 2008 and hit a high of 73% in 2010 and also recording video, which witnessed a more moderate growth to 9%, before rocketing to a figure of 35%.
To conclude, despite the fact that calling the others remained the favourite activity performed by users of mobile phones, the other features were also increasingly used over the period.
