IELTS practice for task 1 about maps of Meadowside village and Foton
The maps illustrate the considerable changes in Meadowside village and Foton town in three different time periods (1962, 1985 and the present).
Overall, the village is transferred into the suburb and merged with Foton town. Additionally, there was a significant alteration in the infrastructure, residential area and services sector in the town and village over the given time period.
In 1962, Medwood village was completely detached from Foton and there was no rail and road connection between them. By 1985, there was a substantial escalation in the size of Meadowside village and Foton town and they are still apart from one another. The small road converted into the main road and extended to Moton town in the east. Furthermore, the housing sector was constructed in the west, the leisure complex and the supermarket seen beside the road in the north and south respectively.
Currently, Meadowside is combined with Foton town and emerged as a suburb. New facilities were constructed between the suburb and the town such as a railway station is seen in the centre beside that, in the north, is the hospital and opposite to the station is a student's park in the south. Moreover, a railway track is established to connect the station with the main train truck.
