You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work. Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter,
• describe the situation
• explain your problems and why it is difficult to work
• say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you about the issues I am facing with the current arrangement of accommodation at students’ hostel.
I have been allocated a shared room in Pristine Hostel, with a fellow student like everybody else in this facility. But, it has been extremely tough to adjust with my current roommate because not only he invites his lot of friend to hang out but he prefers to listen to very loud music. Even after informing him about the inconvenience, he always chooses to neglect it and again continue to follow the same routine.
The current semester exams are coming up, which means I need at least three peaceful hours to study. If it was not about the examination, I would have tried to adjust. When I confronted him about the music problem, he almost got physical. Now it is water over the head for me.
I would really appreciate if you could arrange some other stay where I can concentrate on my studies rather than indulging myself in regular quarrels. It would be more comfortable to have separate room with family or in an apartment, particularly in near proximity to the college campus.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours Faithfully,
Sandip Ramani
