The diagram below shows the development of the village of Kelsby between 1780 and 2000. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The depicted diagram illustrates the alterations in Kelsby village across 120 years. It is apparent that the village was settled by people and had become more facilitated during the given period.
Looking at the information in more detail, we can easily pinpoint that in 1780 there were four farms on the left side of the river and the opposite side of houses was full of woods. After 80 years a new bridge was built up over the river and a road, which was lying between the river and homes began to serve for people. Additionally, while the number of woods halved and farms became only 2, the quantity of homes almost doubled and reached 200.
In XXI century, new schools with sports fields were ready for use and a new road between the homes, which soared by 300 in numbers, made the schools easily accessible. In addition, the farms were removed completely and instead of them new shops were constructed along the left side of the river. A special area for birds, standing at the end of the river, seems to be one of the most striking discrepancies.
All in all, the maps suggest that there were significant improvements in the village.
