Some people believe that in order to be effective, political leaders must yield to public opinion and abandon principle for the sake of compromise. Others believe that the most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.
Some people argue that the people in power should compromise to the public opinion and abolish the relevant principles, while others assert that politicians should insist on a particular policies. It seem to me that policticians have to sacrify their principles to pragmatic reasons or expediency for the publics.
Consider the communism in the middle of twentieth centuries in Asia and east Europe. First in Russia, next China and then east European countries became the piety communists. However, due to the fact that the corripted authorities held on most of affluences, leaving dearth of availbale resources for the publics and consequently, the corrupted government exacerbate the problems. It resulted in most of communism counrties were overthrown. In the late twentieth, Communism Suviet Union was in dissolution. Then the east European Countries embraced capitalism. It shows that politicians who resist to consider to benefit the publics will eventually be overthrown. Furthermore, it is clear that what benefit people most is what the politicians need to follow.
Second instance in which the leaders in government should follow public demans is China. Once a implacable foe of capitalism, people's republic of China, recently seems, in practice if not in principle, to have embraced it. Consequently, China became the second largest Economic productive country and has had twenty successive growth in GDP in last twenty years. Had China not abandoned the previous corrupted system, it would have been in debauchery as Suviet Union. Although the west society accused China of only particially following the capitalism, China has achieved overwhelmingly success in variety areas by respecting public opinions.
However, the policians have to be clear with regard to the problem of what the public is. They should not abolish the principles easily because of the minority's objections. It is certain that a capricious government is unstable and consequently, it is detriment to the development of a country.
In final analysis, I believe that efficiency is a consequence of following the majority, which take public opinion into account and make decision on the basis of benefiting the publics.
