Overall, it is apparent that the spending amount on research for per person in Spain and Denmark followed an upward trend, on the other hand, for Switzerland and the UK it experienced a downward trend.
The expenditure on research for per person in renewable energy in Spain and Denmark rise over the period given. The spending amount for person in research increased gradually, where there was no money spent for research in 1975, at the end of the period, it reached 5 dollars per person, higher than the other three countries. Denmark also saw the similar trend, and in 2000, it spent about 3.5 dollars per person on renewable energy research.
In contrast, the figures for renewable energy research in Switzerland and the UK fluctuated over the next 25 years, and the end of period, in 2000, for both country it was lower than the 1 dollar per person.
