The bar chart illustrates the differences about the proportions of Australian men and women in age groups who enjoyed physical activity in 2010.
Overall, it is clear that there were significant differences between men and women in age groups who did physical exercise. However, the percentage for both genders in the 65 and over group was similar.
Among groups of female, the figure of 53.3% people who enjoyed physical activity was recorded for the age group between 45 and 54. This was followed by groups from 35 to 44 and 55 to 64 which all had figures of 52.5% and 3% respectively. While 48.9% women in the 25 to 34 age group participated in physical exercise, approximately 47% women aged from 15 to 24 and 65 and older were interested in this activity.
In contrast, among male groups, only 39.5% men in the 35 to 44 group did physical activity and a higher proportion of a group from 25 to 34 – 42.3% - took part in regular physical exercise. This activity was also concerned by both groups between 45 and 64 years old with the number from 43% to 45%. While the group with the highest participation figure was the 15 to 24 group with around 53%, less 47% of men aged 65 and older did physical activity.
