Dear Mom and Dad,
I am best in my health and hope the same for you. It has been one month since your daughter left our beloved hometown and came to a completely unfamiliar country for further study. Although I have to face a few cultural differences, Paris is still a fantastic city for me.
First of all, the way French people greeting each other by kisses makes me feel uncomfortable. Traditionally, kisses or hugs are absolute not Asian customs for giving someone a salute. However, the friendly atmosphere created after those awkward moments is not bad at all. I found out that kisses could shorten the distance between strangers. Nevertheless, it is still weird for me.
Additionally, because of differences in climatic characteristics, French farmers cannot grow up plants which native to tropical regions. For example, wheat is seemed to be a staple food instead of rice. Therefore, I think that I have to get acquainted with eating bread daily soon or later.
Finally, above difficulties are not considered as obstacles that hold me back so please do not worry about me. There are no words can express my deep gratitude to you for supporting me wherever I go. I promise that I will work hard to make you proud.
