The graphs below provide information on global population figures and figures for the urban population in different world regions.
The line chart displays the global population trend between 1800 and 2100, and the comparison of the growing population in developed and developing countries is depicted in the bar chart from 2005 to 2030. This is measured by billions of people.
Overall, the increasing number of the population has occurred years ago, and it is estimated to show an upward trend until the beginning of the 22nd century. Also, the population in developing countries will dominate until 2100.
The total number of population around the world increased gradually by almost 1.5 billion people until 1950. This figure is estimated to increase sharply, reaching a peak of 9 billion population in 2050 when the trend will start to fall steadily toward the end of the year.
Initially, the city dwellers in developing countries numbered at around 2.3 billion people who were doubled from developed nations’ population. While the overall people for the former continued to increase in 2015 by about 0.5 billion, the figure for the latter remained reasonably stable. Similarly, until 2030, this increase is estimated to occur in developing regions to 4 billion people, and for the first world countries, they will succeed to keep population growth that will be stable.
