In Iraq. archaeologists have found some clay jars which have been made of 2 inner layers: 1) an iron rod 2) a copper cylinder that have surronded the rod. The experts have beilived that it hadn't been used to as an electrical battery! There are some reasons to reject their opinion:
They have mentioned that an electrical battery needs some metal wires as conducters; If the local people had had a electricity source, how could have used it and taken advantages of it. The response to this problem is that the archaeologists had ignored other objects they had found near the jars. That objects could play the conducter's roll instead of metal wires.
Copper cylinders had been found in Seleucia in advanced. They had been used to protect secret texts. According to the lecture, the cylinders could be used in order to create batteries too. There is no problem for using them multifacely.
The last reason have made by the experts is that the electrical vessels how could help the local people, while they hadn't had any applience to work with electricity. The professor said that some of possible usage of them: getting shock to patients and reducing their pain (medical), showing magical power to other people (as a source of strange and invisible power).
So it is possible that local people had used the clay jars as an generator device.
