The bar chart illustrates the number of passengers traveling by three different mean of public transport in Somewhere town over a three year period between 2012 and 2015.
Overall there were considerable upward trend for the number of people using tram for traveling while this figure of two other types of vehicle fluctuated over the period given. Another interesting is that there were large gaps between the preference of residents to different transports in 2012.
Looking at details, in 2012 train was the most popular public transport with 80,000 passengers which was four times higher compared to the tram’s figure at the same time. This figure for train in the next year fall down dramatically, hit a trough at just 10,000 people. However, the number of people traveling by train was improved steadily in the following years, finishing the period at over 60000 people. By contrast, this figure for tram witnessed a remarkable jump, ranked the first place in 2015 with 95000 passengers.
Similar as train, the number of commuter using bus varied sharply over the period. From 2013 to 2014 this figure surpass other types of vehicle became the most popular public transport used, reached its peak at 70000 passengers in 2014, a sharp rise in comparison with 55000 bus passengers in 2012. However, bus agency experienced immediately a moderate fall by 10000 customers in the next year.
