You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You have lost an item of value on a train. Write a letter to the railway company. In your letter • describe the item • explain where and when you left it • say what action you would like the company to take Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Mark Miller, and I am writing this letter to inform you that I have lost my laptop yesterday on the Cairo to Alexandria train which sat off at 9:00 pm and reached Cairo station at 10:30.
As for my notepad bag, it is a black leather back and has a Dell badge. If you open its zip, you can find a brand new, expensive Dell laptop which costs approximately 2000 dollars along with its charger and some other precious accessories. Hopefully, Lost and Found department at Cairo Railway Station has observed and collected this invaluable item for me.
Regarding the details of the journey, my seat number was 34-A in the first class and the bag was kept at the overhead compartment corresponded to that seat. Unfortunately, I was so exhausted and I forgot to pick my belongings up while leaving the train in Rahmsise, Cairo at 9:00 pm.
Therefore, I would like an immediate physical check for yesterday's lost items, and it would be highly appreciated if you let me know as fast as it is possible that the item is found. In this case, I will manage the fastest transport to get it back. Because it is too late at night now, I assume you might not be able to check the item physically, but could you please go through the lost items register and confirm the availability of my computer until there is a chance for a real confirmation in the morning.
Sorry for any inconvenience and I am looking forward to hearing good news from your end.
Faithfully yours,
Mark Miller
