The line graph compares the amount of time <span style="font-size: 19.36px;">averagely</span> spent to produce a car by 4 companies at their factories in the USA between 1998 and 2005.
Overall, the number of hours used to produce a car decreased in each company over the shown period. Honda and Toyota remained the most productive manufactures, and General experienced the most dramatic decline in production time.
In 1998, Toyota and Honda had the same starting figure, at 22 hours per vehicle. The figures for Ford and general were much higher, at 28 and 32 hours respectively. over the next year, general and Honda reduced their production time by 2 hours. In contrast, the figures for ford and Toyota rose slightly by 1 hour.
With the exception of general, the average number of hours spent by the other 3 companies increased, reaching their peak at 29 hours in 2001 by ford and 24 hours per vehicle by Toyota and Honda. The production rate of general continued to decrease substantially by 8 hours, reaching 22 hours in 2005. In the same year, only 20 hours were spent to produce a car by Toyota and Honda, compared to 21 hours of Ford.
