THE CHART BELOWSHOWS THE PERCENTGE OF HOUSEHOLDS IN OWNED AND RENTED ACCOMODATION IN ENGLAND AND WALES BETWEEN 1918 AND 2011.
The bar chart illustrates the owning and renting proportion of residence in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
It can be clearly seen that the proportion of rented residence was usually declined whereas the owned amount was raised. Overall, the normal trends of both residence continued until 2001.
In 1918, there was the largest proportion of rented residence at 78% while 22% was the lowest of owned residence. after that, there were an increase and decrease for owning and renting accommodation separately until 1971. The proportion of these two varieties was the same at 50% at the moment.
there was no turning point after 1971. The owned residence held the raising gradually to 68% since 1971, by contrast, the dropping of rented residence was entirely shown from 50% to 32% significantly. Lastly, there was a slightly rebound by both trends, 65% and 35% for owned residence and rented residence independently at the end of 2011.
