You are unhappy about a plan to make your local airport bigger and increase the number of flights. You live near the airport.
Write a letter to your local newspaper. In your letter
explain where you live
describe the problem
give reasons why you do not want this development
Dear Sir/Madam,
Greetings for the day!
My name is Amanpreet Kaur, the residence of Chandigarh, and through this letter, I want to describe the problem to increase the size of the airport in my city.
Kindly allow me to elaborate on this matter. I live in sector 48, which is behind the Chandigarh airport. There are so many other organisations and residential places near this airport.
Although extending the size of the airport and the number of flights is a positive development to increase the economy of the nation, the life of local people will suffer from this development. If the size of the airport will increase, then the land which is provided by the government to homeless people on rent basis is acquired by the government.
Because of this development, not only the school organisations but also local hospital suffer from the noise problem. If the flights will increase then it creates noise every 15 minutes, which is not good for patients and children.
I hope your newspaper will publish this not only aware of the local people but also bring the attention of the government too.
Yours faithfully,
Amanpreet Kaur.
