Write a letter to the governor of a local city council who is planning to pull down a historical building in your local area due to the lack of money to repair it. Explain:
Why the building is important?
What can be done with it in future?
How to raise money for repairing it?
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am Alice, a resident of New Golden Town for last ten years and I am writing to share my disappointment regarding the decession of demolishing the historical building next to the old fountain.
Let me start by sharing how much valuable it is for the locals. it does not only carry emotional value for them, but it also brings more tourists to the area. if the building where hostages were kept two hundreds years back is not their, then people will not visit only to see the fountain. Eventually the local shops that were running based on that historical attraction will die out.
Keeping this historical piece intake can be highly beneficial for the economical stability of the locality. Not only for the sustainibility of local business, but the council can also make profit from from the tourist. For example, a museum, local theater play etc can be established inside the secured part of the building. And this way the council will be able to gain some revenue.
Gathering the fund of repairing the building will not be a big issue if you start crowd funding. A number of local people, like me will be happy to help. Moreover, if council partner with the shops that are operating on that area, then a big amount of the funding can be arranged. In that way, council and local business groups, both will be benifitted.
I hope my above mentioned explenation will help you to give another thought about the repairing of that historical building.
Yours faithfully,
Alice
