The article states that 4 day workweek offers numerous benefits to both business and employees and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that it is true but doesn't have enough profit that convenience us to do it and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the article states that 4 day workweek will alleviate some considerable expenses for the average employees. The professor refutes this point by stating that the author only refer to reducing gas amount. The total gas cost in a day that will save is 50-20 dollars that means saving of 50-80 dollars a year. The professor says that it is not enough for deciding to reduce working days.
Second, the reading claims that reducing number of working days will lower the operating cost. However, the professor contends that this has mis guidance. By doing this we reduce the 20% of the business efficiency. Changing working days from 5 to 4 just means to reduce 2 hours a day in 5 days working. The professor states that reducing 20% in business is not justified.
Third, the author avers that 4 day workweek will improve the ability of employees to spend time with their families. The professor oppose this by stating that it is not significantly true. He says, if they have little children, they should take care of them all the day and just one day out of work doesnt enough. Other wise if their kids are old enough to go to school, so the kids spend half of the day in school.
