Overall, It can be seen that both components of GDP in the UK increased significantly from 1992 to 2000, and IT experienced the fastest growth.
The figures for IT industry was higher than service Industry by 1992, with over 6 percent of GDP and around 4 percent respectively. There was a dramatic rise in service industry of GDP from 1994 to 1996, accounted for 7% in 1996. By contrast, the IT remained stable at the same time with 8%.
The GDP in the UK saw rapid growth by IT, with 12% in 1998 and after reaching a peak at nearly 15% by 2000. This figures for service was 7,5% in 1998 and about 8% at the end of the period
