The chart gives information about the tons of air pollutants from different sources from 1990 to 2005.
The line graph illustrates how many tons of pollutants released into the air from various sources between 1990 and 2005.
At the first glance, total air pollutants experienced a drastic decline over the period shown. Additionally, air pollution caused by industry was much higher than other sources.
Looking at the graph in detail, there were 7 million tons of air pollutants in total in 1990, followed by a sharp decrease to just over 3 million tons after a fifteen-year period. Meanwhile, industry released nearly 5.5 million tons of air pollutants in 1990. The figure then significantly dropped to a half of that in the next six years before gradually falling to 2 million tons in 2005.
In 1990, the number of air pollutants sent out was the same from both transports and households, at less than 1 million tons. After three years, the figure of transports slightly rose to 1 million tons, and stabilized at the end of surveyed period. At the same time, the number of pollutants from households lost its popularity, then plummeted to a mere 0.2 million tons.
