The given bar chart compares unemployment levels of women in the four UK’s countries: England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland in two different years: 2013 and 2014.
Overall, the levels of unemployment in the UK slightly dropped in 2014 compared to those in 2013 with an exception in Scotland with showing a gradual increase in 2014.
In England, the female jobless rates in 2013 stood at 6.8%, then it declined to 6.5% in 2014. Showing the same similarities, Wales’ unemployment levels of women had a 0.4% reduction from 5.4% in 2013 to 5.0% in 2014. It was also followed by those rates in Northern Ireland with a significant improvement. Women who did not have jobs in this country significantly reduced from 5.6% to 4.6%. Contrary, the number of unemployed women in Scotland gradually climbed with a 0.6% increase. In 2013, the number of Scotland’s women without having jobs was around 6.1% in 2013, it then soared to 6.7% in 2014.
