The given diagram illustrates the process of paper production as well as how it is recycled.
Creating paper is a five step process. Firstly, the radiata pine thinnings are harvested. Then it is passed through the de-barking drum where barks and logs are removed. The debarked wood is then chipped using a chipper before gets processed through a thermomechanical refiner, that utilizes water. Finally, this refined wood is sent to a paper making machine.
Recycling paper is a six step process, starting with the paper product such as newsprint. Firstly, newspaper is collected from the kerbside. After that, it is crushed in a cone machinery. It is then de-inked on some liquid. This mixture is then sent for cleaning as well as fine screening before it is mixed with recycled pulp in a thermomechanical device. The final product is then passed to the paper making machine for recreating the paper.
