The chart below compares the proportion of Australian in different age groups who did regular exercise between men and women in the year 2010.
It is clear that women had more preference in doing exercise than men in general. Men who are in adolescence did physical activities most frequent while it was more common for mid-age women.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the figure of men is more stable than women, usually keep between 42% and 47% except the men aged 15 to 24(52.8%) and aged 35 to 44(39.5%). Meanwhile, the frequency of doing regular sports was similar for women who aged 35 to 64(nearly 53%). And in other 3 age group (age 15 to 24, 25 to 24, 65 and over), the proportion of women keeps close to 48%.
We could see there are big differences about the exercise habit in two gender among people aged 25 to 64, since much more females did regular exercise than males at that age period. Interestingly, there were more men than women did regular sports at the age 15 to 24. The figures of two gender are similar when comes to the age 65 and over.
