Overall, Fossil Coal was the dominant source exploited for electricity in G while in F, most of the electricity generated through nuclear plants. Besides, Hydroelectric was the resource that produced the biggest amount of electricity among the alternatives in F while in G, this came from both Wind and Biomass.
G depended its electricity-generation mostly on Conventional coal, making up to around 60%, which thrice as much as the amount produced by Nuclear Power at just above 20%. In France, a reverse pattern could be noticed. Nuclear power got the lion’s share, taking the leading position at 76% while Fossil Fuel was less than 6 times, at the bottom of 10,3%. Renewables were equally exploited in both countries, approximately around 15%.
As regards green fuels, the most striking feature can be seen in France Electricity Generation is Hydroelectricity, with 80,5% (1st rank), 80 times more than Solar energy. In Germany, these two sources contributed to 17,1% and 6,1% respectively. The electricity produced from Biomass was similar to wind power at about 9% an 36% in France and Germany correspondingly.
