The diagram explains the way in which electricity is produced from the geothermal energy at a power plant.
Overall, the process consists of five stages, beginning with the cold water and ending up with the generation of electricity.
Firstly, cold water which is stored is pumped down for 4.5 kilometres, through the injection well. There the water is stored underground, which is known as geothermal zone or hot rocks. The cold water, stored underground now becomes hot in this zone. Subsequently, the production well is used to pump the hot water up from the hot rocks.
In the next stage, the pumped hot water passes through the condenser resulting in steam. In the next stage the turbine, which is powered by the steam that is generated from the condenser is run. This is followed by a generator which is powered by the turbine to produce electricity. Finally, The electricity produced is then transported to heavy electric towers for regular usage.
