Essay topics:

Write a letter to your friend, who lives in another town, and invite him/her to a party you are going to organise.

In your letter, explain:

why are you holding the party

who are expected to be present at the party

invite your friend and give directions on how to get there

Dear Bob,

I haven’t heard from you in a long time and hope that all is well with you. Anyway, you will be glad to know that I have got a job offer from one of the leading telecommunication companies, and I will be starting the new job after a couple of weeks from now. You will also be happy to know that I am going to hold a party to celebrate this great occasion of getting a “new job” on the 18th of February next month. Please be present at the party and make it even more special.

My family members and some of our old-time university friends, like Peter, Jonson and Raul, are expected to be present at the party also. I have already invited 25 guests and most of them are friends and family.

I hope, you haven’t forgotten the direction to come to my place. But, in case if you don’t have the direction with you, here it is once again- first, take the M12 highway, drive about 2 hours until you hit the Jupiter Street. Turn right on Jupiter and pass a few signal lights until you reach the Victoria shopping mall, and my home is right behind the mall a couple of blocks away. Just call me if you have trouble finding my place.

I look forward to seeing you at the party.

Warm wishes,

Louis Ferguson
