The graph below illustrates the rate changes between birth and death in New Zealand since 1901 until 2101. The rate of births and deaths is ranged in thousands. Overall, since the year 1901 until our present time we can see that new born exceed the number of dead people.
To begin with, birth measures 20,000 in the year 1901 and increases gradually till it reaches a peak of approximately 66,000 in the year around 1969. Moreover, Birth rate faced a lot of ups and downs until now.
In contrast, Death range was always low and never exceeded more than 30,000 in the timeline between 1901 and 2020. As a start the Death number varied under 10,000 (year 1901) with a sudden increase to around 16,000 in only 1 year (1920). Then, its line on the graph reduced directly the year after by 3,000 but afterward the rate of Death rose slowly up to our recent days.
In conclusion, this graph shows the future of rates between Birth and Death where the two will meet at an intersection point 20 years from now. As the chart also predicts that Death will defeat Birth in the future and somehow this futuristic issue is scary.
