Write a letter to a friend whose birthday party you missed. In you letter include
An apology
Why you missed it
Questions about how fun it was
Dear Emma,
How are you? I hope this letter finds you well. Here’s wishing you a very happy, albeit belated, birthday!
I cannot apologize enough to you for missing your birthday party. I was really looking forward to spending some quality time with you, but unfortunately, something came up at the last minute. I do hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
The reason I was unable to attend was my fault, and a very foolish one at that. In my eagerness to get home and to your party, I met with a car accident. Although it was a minor one, the paramedics that arrived insisted that I be taken to the hospital. By the time I was given a clean bill of health, it was well past midnight, so I just headed home.
Whenever you can, do write to me and tell me how you liked the Harry Potter theme we had organized. Did we manage to do your favorite book justice? I hope all the decorations and the games were a lot of fun, and you had a marvelous time.
I hope we can meet up sometime and I get to make it up to you soon!
Warm wishes,
Cathy
