The reading passage claims several different theories about how the agnostids may have lived. However, the professor in the lecture casts doubt on the points made in the reading.
First, considering the article that the agnostids may been free-swimming predators. In contrast, the professor in the lecture contradicts the idea and further explains that this theory is not so logical because most of the agnostids had tiny eyes with poor vision and these kinds of eyes are not so efficient for free-swimming predators. Also, there is not enough evidence for other features that helped them during hunting.
Second, the reading passage claims that the agnostids may dwelled on the seafloor. Admittedly, the professor in the lecture justifies the information presented in the reading and makes the point that the Seafloor Dwellers are not so fast and there are occupied just in small areas. But, the agnostids were so fast and evidence shows they spread in large distances pretty fast.
Third, the article puts forward the idea that there is the possibility that the agnostids were parasites. In the same way, the speaker validates the idea and adds that parasites mostly are in small size and live in large population but the agnostids were so big and their group was smaller than parasites.
To sum up, both the writer and speaker hold conflicting views about how the agnostids may have lived.
