The graph below shows the differences in wheat exports over three different areas.
The line graph gives information on the proportions of wheat exports in Australia, Canada and the European community over a five year period (1985 - 1990).
Overall, Canada recorded the highest tonnes of wheat exported over the period, while Australia exported the lowest amount of wheat. In addition, the tonnes of wheat export varied significantly across all the three areas, especially in canada.
At the start of this period, Canada exported the largest portion of wheat, followed by the European community and Australia at approximately 19 million tonnes, 16.5 million tonnes and 15 million tonnes respectively. However, by 1986, Canada and Australia saw a decline in wheat export at about 17 million tonnes and 14 million tonnes accordingly, while, in Australia, the wheat export increased slightly to about 16 millon tonnes.
By the end of the period, the European community took the record for the highest tonnes of wheat export. In second place was canada, at about the same number of tonnes previously seen in 1985. Furthermore, the lowest wheat export by 1990 was Australia, recording just a little above 10 million tonnes.
