Some people think that job satisfaction is more important than job security. But others believe that people cannot always enjoy their jobs and having a permanent job is more important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
People have become workaholics these days and earning money has become increasingly popular among them no matter how arduous the job is. Some believe that earning is more important than satisfaction from the work you do, while others prefer job satisfaction. This essay will discuss merits and demerits of both with my opinion.
On one hand, some people have views for better future and they see a job security even though that job does not make them happy. For instance, some of my colleagues accept the shift duties as well as work overtime at cost of their satisfaction and fulfilment from that job. They can't even fulfill their family commitments as they are committed to the job which provides them a secure earning every month. A recent study conducted among employees at government hospital in India shows that 65% of them are not satisfied with their work environment and always live under pressure but the permanent security of job is the reason that they are still working. So this group always live under stress because of their monotonous job.
On the other hand, some prioritize their life than the company that provide them permanent work at cost of their inner happiness. They think that if they are not interested in doing the job than it could not make them productive at work. They give equal importance to the work-life balance as their family and happiness matter the most than job. They even compromise with their salary for their satisfaction. They think that they could find another job if there is no security in their current one. Thus, they prefer satisfaction over security.
In conclusion, although there are several advantages of secure job, satisfaction is extremely essential for well-being. In my opinion, Waking up every morning and going for work is something one should be excited about. So I prefer job satisfaction over job security.
