air purifiers and there advantages
The reading and lecture are both about some commonly used air purifiers. Where as the author of the reading states pros of these purifiers, the lecturer suggests that there are some cones for each filter. The lecturer casts doubts on the main points made in the reading by providing three reasons.
First of all, the according to the reading, HEPA filters are capable in trapping large pollutant particles without producing secondary pollution. However, the lecturer disputes this point. He says that these filters are incapable in getting rid from small particles like viruses. Furthermore, he mentions that these viruses grow and multiply on the filter itself and then get mix with the air it produce. Hence, cause pollution.
Secondly, the reading states that ozone generating filters remove airbone chemicals by help of ozone reaction and then producing a pleasant smell. Nevertheless, the lecturer refutes this argument. he argues that these filters are hazardous. As ozone generated by these filters is very high in concentration which can be harmful for our body and can cause skin irritation and could be extreme dangerous for eyes. Furthermore, he added that ozone react same as gasoline and that's why it make it even more dangerous.
Finally, the reading claims that uv air purifiers remove bacterias from air which are harmful and it operate quietly. On the other hand, the lecturer believes that these filters can not clear microscopic particles like dust and also fail in removing unpleasant smell from air.
In conclusion, although the reading and lecture are both about air purifiers, the three main points made in the reading are effectively challenged by the lecturer.
