Write a letter to local newspaper editor, to inform him that article about city/town you know very well which contains some incorrect information - write how you know that city - what incorrect information article contains - what they should do about that
Dear Sir,
My name is Rahul Krishnan from Thiruvalla, Kerala. I recently came across an article in the special edition of your esteemed newspaper about another city, Kaviyoor, which I know is not correct.
I do not belong to this place, but my in-laws live there and I visit them quite often. In fact, I know it well as my home town. I know every nook and corner of that place, including the historical importance as well of this location.
In the 1st November special edition, the article mentioned as the name of this place was given 500 years back, but actually it was over 5000 years. I read a lot about the history of this place and have a deep understanding of the implication of this name and when this name was given from religious textbooks.
I firmly believe that this may be a printing mistake, but still, I feel you must correct this article and repost it again with the correct information. Your paper has got a lot of circulation so people will get the right information. It also helps to give the younger generation about the cultural and traditional importance of places and name.
Hoping to read the article with the correct information!
Yours faithfully
Rahul
