You have seen an advertisement for a community college that needs teachers for night classes.
Write a letter to the community college. In your letter:
- say which advertisement you are answering
- describe which course(s) you want to teach, and what it/they would be about
- explain why you would be a suitable teacher
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing this letter in connection with the advertisement regarding a requirement to teach marketing at your esteemed institute, St. James community college.
On my way to work, I picked up this month’s edition of ‘This week in marketing’ magazine, where I stumbled across your advertisement looking for a ‘new-age marketing guru’ to teach the next batch of advertisers. It was smartly placed on the ‘best commercials’ page, as this page is never missed by an industry expert, since it keeps them stay up-to-date. It was also placed strategically next to the article on the new Google advertisement, that went viral and is the talk of the town.
While I was thinking about this position, I was in a fix deciding on the subjects that would be apt for these new generation of students. I have narrowed it down to two very important courses, ‘Digital Marketing in 2020’ and ‘New trends and methods of marketing’. I believe these two will cover all the relevant points to succeed in the industry. These courses will have a mix of classroom training, group projects and practical workshops to give a holistic learning experience.
I strongly believe this position has opened up only for me, and I think I can bring a lot to the table. I have been in this industry for 16 years and have worked with gigantic brands. Additionally, I also have a M.B.A. degree in Marketing and Advertisement from Harvard.
I look forward to your positive revert and hope that I can help shape the minds of the young talent at your institution.
Yours sincerely,
Karishma Dave
