The charts give information about world forest in five different regions
The first pie chart shows the percentage of world forest in 5 different areas, and the second one illustrates the proportion that timber accounted for in each region.
Overall, while Africa occupied the highest proportion of forest area, it also had the lowest percentage of timber, which had the highest share in North America.
It can be recognized from the first chart that Africa had the highest forest cover at 27%, closely followed by North America at 25%. The percentage of forest in three other regions, namely South America, Europe, and Asia, were relatively low, at under 20%. The lowest figure was for Asia, at 14%.
Regarding the second chart, the highest proportion of timber was seen for North America, at 30%. Despite the minor area of forest, Asia stood for 18% of timber, twice as high as that figure of Africa, represented at the first chart as the region with the highest forest cover.
