The provided bar chart illustrates how much recycling that people from five different nations did between 1992 and 2004. Looking from an overall perspective, it is manifest that the percentage of the UK and US citizens who did recycling increased over the given period, while the remaining three nations’ percentage decreased or stayed unchanged.
To begin with, the UK led in percentage of people who recycled at 26 percent in 1992 and continued to maintain its position by increasing the percentage to over 30 in 2004. Follow by the US, whose percentage also grew over 12 years, from about 16 percent in 1992 to nearly 20 percent in 2004.
On the other hand, the figures of Japanese and Singaporean showed a relative decline over the period. In Japan, the percentage went down from 11 percent in 1992 to around 8 percent in 2004, whereas the Singaporean figures dropped from 6 percent to 5 percent. Besides that, the percentage of German people who recycled their trash remained stable at percent from 1992 to 2004.
