Given is the chart depicting the disparity in the percentage of upper-65 years old generation among three nations in a 42-year period starting from 1988. It is perceptible that Germany is by far the oldest country while the third term belonged to the UK. All three nations witnessed increasing tendency in the whole period.
Not only opposing the lowest starting point at only 14% in 1988, but the UK also has a small increasing rate over the next 12 years, over a decade, but the percentage of upper-65 years old generation was also recorded almost unchanged by surging 1%. However, experts predict that there will be a big change in the number of elderly in the UK in the next 3 decades, it will soar by 5% and catch up with the other old trending. Especially, 2030 is the time when the UK’s elderly number reach the peak, but it is still equal to the starting point of Germany.
On the other hand, Canada and Germany are the two countries that have the most stable surging rate over the 42-year period, around 5% in each gap. It is conspicuous that from the past to the future, there is a big disparity in the two numbers, Canada always less than 4% less than Germany which has the first rank among the three nations. The ending point of Germany was double and almost double than the UK and Canada, respectively.
