The pie charts illustrate the changes and differences in the proportions of water used in six different elements in Sydney, Australia in 1997 and 2007. Overall, what stands out from the graph is there were downward trends in most categories, except for the household use and service industry that bucked the trend. Noticeably, food industry constantly dominated the water consumption in both years.
In particular, when it comes to building industry and Manufacturing, the graph witnessed slight decreases from 5%, 11% for the former to 2%, 11% for the latter in the percentages of water use, which consecutively accounted for the lowest numbers. Similarly, regarding Food industry, the figure stood at 48% in 1997, then declined marginally by 7% in 2007, which continuously occupied the highest percentages.
In stark contrast, in terms of household use, a slight growth from 19% to 21% was experienced in the proportion of water consumption. Meanwhile, concerning Service industry, the percentage of water use finished at 25% in 2007, which was doubled in comparison with that in 1997, particularly at 13%.
