The charts below show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world.

The pie charts compare the various reasons (Industrial, Agriculture, and Domestic) of water used in the several continents of the world.

Overall, as can be seen, South America, Africa, and Asia continents are utilizing the largest portion of the water just for agriculture purposes rather than Industrial or domestic. While, the Rest of the two continents, North America and Europe uses their greatest portion of water in the industrial sector as compared to agriculture and domestic.

More specifically, Asian and African people spend over eight-tenth of the water for harvesting crops, while South America needs around seven-tenth of water for the same purpose. Moreover, the rest of the resource goes for the industrial and domestic sector, in Africa 9% and 7% respectively, For Central Asia (5% and 7%), while Southeast Asia stands for 12% and 7% respectively.

On the contrary, Europe and North America devote their most of the water resource solely for Industrial purposes 53% and 48% respectively. whereas, in North America, 13% is consumed by domestic and exact threefold asks for farming. In the contrast, Europe spends 15% on domestic and more than double needs for cultivating crops.
